Our PVC garden lighthouses are Amish handcrafted in the USA using AZEK® lumber. AZEK® lumber is made of 100% cellular PVC with NO wood fiber, while maintaining the look, feel, and sound of premium wood lumber. This polymer lumber is specially formulated to make it resistant to sunlight and virtually unaffected by harsh weather conditions.
Why Aren't All Lighthouse Styles Available In PVC?
Since PVC and Poly garden lighthouses are the same price and have approximately the same lifespan, the need for PVC models is limited to making styles available that are not able to be produced in poly. The major difference between PVC and Poly is how color is applied to the product. Paint does not adhere well to poly and therefore coloring dye is added to the product when the poly lumber is made. Paint adheres extremely well to PVC and therefore it can be painted into creative design patterns which would not be able to be produced in poly.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Poly lighthouses are the best garden lighthouses available, however not all designs can be created with poly. PVC lighthouses are almost equal to poly in durability with a life expectancy over 25 years, while allowing paint to be used in creating more complex designs.
